Germany’s Highest Court Rules on Same-Sex Inheritance

Germany’s highest court, the Federal Constitutional Court, has ruled that same-sex couples who are in legal civil unions are entitled to the same inheritance tax rules as married couples, according to an article on GayAgenda.com.
The court found no valid reason to discriminate against gay couples in registered partnerships. Although many think civil unions are equal to marriage, this is one reminder that they are not as the same holds true in U.S. law.
